Research is a key word for Geppy Pisanelli, who was born in Aversa, Italy, in 1971. Research guides his existence. It is the link connecting two spheres, which are contrasting only on the surface: art and science. He leads his life balancing both interests, on an ongoing search for new horizons. He is a Researcher at University of Napoli Federico II and Mount Sinai School of Medicine, in New York, where he studies the mechanisms of immuno-evasion of RNA viruses.
As a visual artist, he focuses on exploring a kind of painting style, which, although rooted in traditional canons, strives to constantly push and reformulate the boundaries of pictorial narration and formal composition.
He is currently living and working between Napoli and New York.
